What is normal air quality?

The standard sets the normal range for the level of CO2 (carbon dioxide) inside the house at 400-600 ppm, which is slightly above the normal levels in outdoor air (400 ppm). Modern ventilation systems are built around this assumption to ensure good enough indoor air quality while maintaining energy efficiency.
